This is the hat you see in my videos of Antarctica and Arctic Norway.  I have been cozy warm in temperatures down to -42 Celcius.  This hat lives in my backpack whenever working on Arctic expeditions, and use it when the weather gets bad or at the end of the day hanging around camp.  It is the perfect hat to protect from frostbite.

A drawstring between the ear flaps keeps the hat tight around your chin/kneck and keeps the warm air in while stopping it from being blown away in strong winds.

It can be used with a possum buff around the neck for extra protection.  Then if you add goggles all the delicate skin on your face will be completely protected from frostbite.
